Shiatsu with Sarah Hill
Shiatsu is a holistic complementary therapy, which aims to treat the whole person. Shiatsu originates in Japan and is influenced by Chinese and Western knowledge. It is similar to acupuncture, but without the needles, so while it is a less invasive therapy it operates on the same principles. It has the same power to rebalance the body's energy, promote well being, support good health and prevent illness.
Everybody responds to touch, and the healing power of touch is an ancient art that people are now beginning to recognize again and is increasingly being studied in mainstream medicine. During a Shiatsu treatment pressure is applied to areas of the body using the hands, elbow, knees and feet. Gentle stretches, holding and supportive techniques are also used. Shiatsu is received fully clothed.
Shiatsu works on a physical, mental and emotional level.
